Crime Scene Unit
The technicians and detectives assigned to crime scene are highly trained in the recovery and analysis of evidence such as latent fingerprints, DNA, shoe and tire impressions, tool marks, and digital evidence.
Unlike what is shown on television, this requires hours upon hours of work and many cases take months to solve due to a backlog in the state crime lab. While fingerprint matches can sometimes be made in a short time frame, DNA and other tests can take months to complete.
The Crime Scene Unit has also invested in the latest technology to help recover digital evidence on the phones and computers of suspects and is often asked to assist much larger agencies in recovering this type of information.
