Our Consolidated Dispatch is staffed 24 hours 7 days per week by highly trained professionals whose goal is to provide both emergency and non-emergency Law Enforcement, fire and medical services, in a professional and expedient manner. We are a consolidated center responsible for dispatching Avon Park Police Department, Sebring Police Department, Highlands County Sheriff's Office, Lake Placid Police Department, Emergency Medical Services, Emergency Operations Center (Hazmat) and thirteen fire departments. Our EMD certified 9-1-1 operators provide pre-arrival Emergency Medical Dispatch instructions to callers. While ambulance, fire service and law enforcement is en-route these life saving instructions on various types of medical emergencies, can save lives.
Our Consolidated Dispatch Center strives to acquire the best technology, along with providing our dispatchers the best training available to serve those at their most critical hour. The 9-1-1 Dispatcher, is the first, First Responder. He or she must correctly prioritize the call for service, determine what type and number of resources are needed at the scene, organize the response, and provide pre-arrival instructions to the caller. The dispatcher is the vital link, ensuring clear communication between all responders, affecting the safety of both the citizen in need and the police, fire and emergency medical personnel responding. Through our actions, we help save lives, protect property, and assist the public in their time of need.
