Captain Lauro E Diaz began his Law Enforcement career in 1979 with the U.S Army Military Police. After completion of a three year commitment with the Arm forces, Captain Diaz joined the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office where he spent twenty-seven years in law enforcement service. During this time, Captain Diaz worked in many different fields of law enforcement, and rose thru the ranks from Deputy Sheriff to Captain of law enforcement. His previous positions include uniform road patrol, detective in Tactical Unit, Narcotic Agent, and sergeant in both road patrol and special investigations. During this time he served as a Lieutenant of Narcotics, Captain of Narcotics, SWAT Commander, Training Captain and Command Duty Officer.
Captain Diaz has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice from Kaplan University and a Master's Degree in Homeland Security and Emergency Management from Kaplan University. Captain Diaz is also a graduate of Drug Commander School as well as Dignitary Protection commander School in Washington DC.
