Major David Paeplow has been a member of the HCSO for twenty-six years. His previous positions include uniform patrol, criminal investigations division as an evidence/crime scene investigator, lieutenant over professional standards (training, internal affairs, background investigations), and supervision of the civil division, central records and information systems.

He had earned an Associate in Arts degree from South Florida Community College in 1976 and a Bachelor in Science degree from Palm Beach Atlantic University in 1978.

Major Paeplow is an FDLE Certified instructor in firearms, defensive tactics, and general subjects. He is also a member of the Region VIII Criminal Justice Standards and Training Council and the American Correctional Association.
