Inmate Visitation

The Highlands County Sheriff’s Office Detention Facility is committed
to providing visitation between inmates and their family and friends.
The following is a list of rules and regulations established to
facilitate a cohesive and respectful visitation experience while
complying with the guidelines and requirements of the Facility.
Rules and Regulations

Appointments are
made at the Visitor’s Reception Desk, Monday through Friday 6:30 am to
9:00 pm at 863-402-7201 or 863-402-7202.

Visitors will
schedule appointments no more than 48 hours in advance.

Visitors must
register at the Visitor’s Reception Counter with photo identification
prior to appointment.

Persons
under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

Only two
visitors allowed per inmate per visit.

Children will not be
left unattended in the lobby area.

Visitors must be
dressed appropriately. No swim suits, see through, or obscene clothing
of any type. The Shift Supervisor will make the final determination on
whether attire is appropriate.

Same day
appointments will not be made.

Same day
cancellations will be counted as a visit for the week.

No food
or drinks allowed in the lobby area.

No cell
phones are allowed in the lobby area.

Unruly
or disruptive behavior will not be tolerated and may lead to the
termination of a visit.

Visitors will not touch or move the video equipment.
Failure to comply with the rules and regulations of the Facility may result in the termination of a visit and or the visitor being banned from making future visits.
